ARV Series

Concept.

An annual product collaboration between Armada and evo. As part of the partnership, over the past four seasons the brands produced a special ski within the available toolkit: materials, molds, and graphic design.

Armada handled the engineering while working with evo in development of the ski, then sold exclusively through evo.  The 96 UL was supported by a content project, shot on location at evo Portland and Mt. Hood Meadows.

ARV 96 UL

We took Armada’s best selling ski in the ARV 96 and applied a more premium construction. The goal was to reduce the swing weight of the ski without sacrificing dampness. Caruba and poplar woods combined to make-up the core, while a Titanal mount plate and Armada’s Adaptive Mesh weave was paired with rubber dampening pads placed strategically near the tip and tails to achieve our target.

ARV 106 Ti LTD & LTD²

The ski every shop employee wanted. We built it. Twice.

The objective was to craft a ski that didn’t compromise. Two layers of Titanal sandwiched Armada’s Pop-lite wood core. The ARV 106Ti comes without a speed limit, regardless of conditions. We targeted this ski for two releases. The first an early release December ‘17, limited to only 100 units; followed by the LTD² landing the fall of ‘18.

TST evoAir

It all started here. Having just amplified our (evo’s) commitment to the Armada line, we wanted to spice up the assortment and bring something new to the table. We took a commercial shape in the TST, and then applied their Ultra-lite touring core to provide a versatile platform you could ski on-hill or take out in backcountry without a weight penalty. The TST evoAir was released the fall of ‘16/17.

stop wondering.”

ARV 96UL ft. Mike Hornbeck

“Blending an ultralight core with Armada’s best-selling shape, the evo x ARV 96 UL offers gravity-defying performance designed to inspire creativity and turn the mountain into your canvas.

With the prototypes dialed and the stoke palpable, we needed a willing guinea pig; someone to punch the gas and push the limit on everything from jumps and rails to bumps and steeps. Who better to put the ARV 96 UL through its paces than a man who's thrashed more pairs of skis than he's had hot dinners? We sent the Godfather of urban skiing, Mike Hornbeck, on a mission to Mama Hood to get the lowdown on this exclusive new offering from evo and Armada.” - evo product copy
